September Meeting Information

At the meeting, the teachers worked in small groups reading information about word walls and QAR. The small groups then wrote pertinent information onto chart paper to share out with the other groups. The video below includes the charts each group constructed to lead discussion of their article.



It was also decided at the meeting that Thursday each week would be Demonstration Classroom Day. We will begin opening the Demonstration Classrooms to visitors beginning October 8th to view one of the two strategies discussed at the September 18th meeting.

The First Meeting

The first meeting of the Pleasant Hill R-III Demonstration Classroom Cadre was Friday, September 18, 2009. The following strategies were discussed:

• Word Walls
• QAR (Question-Answer-Relationship)

The teachers will select the strategy they want to implement in their classroom for the next six weeks. The teachers will open their classrooms for others in the buildings to observe one day each week. The Demonstration Classroom teachers will have the opportunity to blog about their experiences and to stay in contact with the other Cadre teachers throughout the district.
